Are you having trouble with your dishwasher not cleaning your dishes properly? If you recently had a hot water heater installed, your water may not be hot enough. Some areas have introduced regulations that require new hot water heaters to have a safety valve to prevent the water temperature from going higher than 100 degrees. This is a safety precaution to prevent accidental burns.
To meet new Energy Consumption Standards, dishwashers have a “High Temperature Wash” or “HI TEMP” switch to boost your water temperature to the proper washing temperature which is 140 degrees. This high water temperature is necessary to activate the soap additives in order to clean your dishes.
So, if you are having problems with your dishes not coming clean it could be because your water temperature is not hot enough. Try turning on the “High Temperature Wash” button. Your dishwasher may also have a sanitize cycle which may also help clean your dishes better.
